The Immergences project is a long term solution for the sea level rise problem. The excavation of the existing reef massifs marks the beginning of shelters creation process and the current level of the land raising. The underwater massif will later on become a shell linked to the land and then, disconnected from the island, will transform into an autonomous Immergence. It will be flowing, capable to adapt to the sea level rise, but it will also produce energy, contain potable water reserve as well as host scientific research centres and provide people with food, water, commercial and cultural facilities.
