MOON-SCRAPERS THE MOON-SCRAPERS ARE MILESTONE BUILDINGS OF AN UNDERGROUND NEW CIVILIZATION IN THE MOON

  • Year2019
  • LocationPhilolaus Crater, North Pole of the Moon

What should be kept in mind for the foundation of this Moon Village? Under peace conditions and the joint effort of humanity to colonize space and establish a self-sufficient colony of human beings on the moon, one might think of 3 basic aspects to be required: a symbolic one, a technological one, and an economic one.

From the symbolic point of view, people must be self-sufficient and create a sense of identity in order to be able to connect with a broader sense of life, the macro and microcosm of humanity.

The technological fundamentals are the tools, mechanisms and procedures necessary for the development and perpetuation of the lunar life over time, together with the provision of water, air, energy, and food.

The development of a lunar economy will begin with the production of goods and services that are beneficial both to the quality and to the quantity of living conditions. One third of the habitable space will at minimum should be provided to leisure activities and lunar tourism, which will leave significant resources for reinvestment in areas such as mining and infrastructure expansion.

The Moon-Scrappers are buildings-systems of production of water, air and energy, in addition to being the landmarks of access to the lunar town built in the lava caverns. In this way, they are designed as symbolic and also technological elements of the foundation of the new life on the moon.
